3. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Providers You Select

When you choose to continue with a participating provider and provide any required partner-sharing consent, we may transmit information needed for that provider’s process.

The provider becomes responsible for its own handling of your information under its privacy policy and terms.

Service Providers

We may use companies that provide:

  • Website hosting and databases
  • Cloud storage
  • Email and text-message delivery
  • Authentication and security
  • Fraud prevention
  • Analytics and performance monitoring
  • Customer support
  • Document processing
  • Professional, legal, accounting, or compliance services

These companies may process information only as necessary to provide services to us and subject to applicable contractual or legal restrictions.

Dealers and Referral Sources

If you enter through a dealer, salesperson, campaign, or referral link, we may provide that source with limited status information, such as whether an application was started or completed.

We do not provide detailed financial information to a dealer or referral source unless you authorize it or disclosure is otherwise permitted by law.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, court order, or legal process
  • Respond to lawful government requests
  • Investigate fraud, security incidents, or misuse
  • Protect the rights, safety, and property of users, partners, or others
  • Enforce our agreements

Business Transactions

Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of some or all business assets, subject to applicable law.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information for another purpose when you direct us or give consent.

4. Compensation and Personal Information

INeedADownPayment.com may receive compensation when users click provider links, submit applications, receive approvals, obtain funding, purchase products, or complete other qualifying actions.

We do not sell personal information for money as a standalone data product. However, certain privacy laws may define “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising broadly enough to include some referral, advertising, or partner arrangements.

Where applicable, you may request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by emailing [email protected] with the subject line Privacy Request.

Choosing to opt out will not prevent disclosures that are necessary to provide a service you request, complete a provider referral you authorize, maintain security, or comply with law.

5. Credit Information

The general matching questionnaire may ask for an estimated credit range or an approximate score provided by you.

INeedADownPayment.com does not itself obtain a consumer credit report or perform a hard credit inquiry merely to display potential matches. A participating provider may request permission to perform a soft or hard credit inquiry if you continue with that provider.

Review the provider’s disclosures before authorizing any credit inquiry.

6. Communications

We may send transactional communications concerning:

  • Account creation and security
  • Application progress
  • Secure resume links
  • Potential matches
  • Provider selections
  • Consent confirmations
  • Support requests
  • Important policy or service updates

Marketing email and text-message permissions are requested separately when required. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the link in the message.

For text messages, you may follow the instructions in the message, including replying STOP where supported. Opting out of marketing does not prevent essential account, security, or legally required communications.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining consent and transaction records, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations.

Raw IP addresses associated with visitor analytics are generally retained for approximately 30 days. Page-view and visitor-journey records may generally be retained for approximately 400 days.

Applications, accounts, consent records, communications, referral records, conversion records, and audit logs may be retained longer when needed for business, security, contractual, or legal purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable requirements. Information may remain in protected backups for a limited period after deletion.

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include:

  • Encryption in transit
  • Encryption of selected sensitive data at rest
  • Secure password hashing
  • Role-based access controls
  • Administrative audit logging
  • Session expiration
  • Rate limiting and bot protection
  • Secure credential management
  • Access monitoring
  • Data minimization

No website, database, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account password and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Know whether we process your personal information
  • Request access to personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of information
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information
  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling
  • Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Appeal the denial of a privacy request
  • Receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising your rights

These rights may be subject to exceptions. For example, we may retain information required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, consent records, transactions, or legal claims.

To submit a request, email [email protected] with the subject line Privacy Request.

Please include enough information for us to identify your account or application and understand your request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it. We will use verification information only to process and protect your request.

An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We may require proof of authorization and identity verification.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with the subject line Privacy Appeal.

10. State-Specific Rights

Residents of California and other states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws.

Please review our State Privacy Notice for more information about categories of personal information, sources, purposes, disclosures, retention, and state-specific rights.

11. Children’s Privacy

The platform is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, email [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Third-Party Websites

Our website may link or redirect you to participating providers, dealers, or other third-party websites.

We do not control those websites or their privacy and security practices. Review the third party’s privacy policy, terms, and disclosures before submitting information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, partners, technology, or legal obligations change.

The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice or request renewed consent when required.
