How it works
What actually happens when you use this site
No surprises. Here is each step, including where your information goes and where our money comes from.
- 1
You tell us what you are buying
Purchase type, approximate price, what the seller wants down and what you already have. That last subtraction is your gap — the number the whole site is built around.
- 2
You tell us about your situation
Income, employment, housing, an estimate of your credit range. We do not pull your credit to do this, and an honest estimate matches you better than an optimistic one.
- 3
We check you against the programs available
Each participating provider publishes its own guidelines — states served, income floors, amount ranges, credit bands. We evaluate what you told us against those rules and score how well each one fits.
- 4
You see what may fit
Potential matches, not approvals. Every card shows the amount range, typical decision speed, funding timeline and credit profile that provider publishes, plus why it matched you.
- 5
You choose whether to continue
Nothing is submitted anywhere until you pick a provider and authorize it. If you continue, you either go to that provider’s site or we send your information to them — and we tell you which is happening.
- 6
The provider decides
Approval, rate, terms, fees and funding timeline are entirely theirs. We do not make credit decisions and we cannot promise any outcome.
What we do not do
- We are not a lender. We do not make credit decisions and we do not fund anything.
- We do not guarantee approval, and we do not claim everyone qualifies.
- We do not send your information anywhere until you pick a provider and authorize it.
- We do not sell your information to unrelated parties for their own marketing.
- We do not display certifications, endorsements or reviews we have not earned.
About credit inquiries
Answering questions here does not pull your credit. What happens after you pick a provider depends on that provider: some start with a soft inquiry that does not affect your scores, others perform a hard inquiry when you formally apply. Each one discloses which it does before you complete their application. We will not promise you a specific credit outcome on someone else’s behalf.
How we get paid
We may be paid when you click, apply, or receive funding through a provider shown here. Compensation can affect which providers appear and the order in which they are listed. This is advertising, not a recommendation, and it is not a guarantee of approval.
